What is the Employer Wellness Resource Center?
This
resource center is designed to support North Carolina employers' efforts to
create a healthier work place and promote healthier employees. Specific links
to organizations that have created services and/or tools to promote wellness in
the workplace as well as tips for starting an employer based wellness programs
can be found. An Interactive Preventive Tool designed by the Preventative
Services Task Force (AHRQ) will help define feedback on employee's overall
health. After inputting age, sex and pregnancy status specific feedback with
customized recommendations including an action plan designed to promote health
and wellness. In addition, a general on line health risk assessment is provided
along with an alcohol, BMI, asthma, CV including stroke, diabetes, 12 types of
cancer, osteoporosis, depression and dementia risk and/or severity assessment
is included. These risk assessment tools can be used by employees to determine
their likelihood of disease risk, development and/or overall disease
progression. In addition, a special focus is given to five key areas of
employees' health and/or wellness: drugs and alcohol use, nutrition and weight
management, physical activity, smoking cessation and stress management
resources.

including success stories. This toolkit is offered through Fit Together, a
